Favela Brass is funded primarily by individual donations and notable fundraising efforts such as the Coast to Coast Stomp, organized in the UK by trombonist Stuart Garside. Over the course of ten days in August 2015, eight British jazz musicians walked from the West to the East coast of the UK, raising money through sponsorship and by busking in each of the towns they went through on the way. In the end, over £4,000 was raised and this feat was repeated in 2016. Favela Brass is also supported by monthly individual donors in the UK and through an ongoing crowdfunding campaign in Brazil.
