Kids Adapt to Online Lessons

Given considerable safety concerns in relation to COVID-19, we stopped giving in-person lessons to our kids at the beginning of this week. But this does not mean music making at Favela Brass has been suspended. Each of our students has an instrument to practice on at home and we will now give lessons online–through Skype, FaceTime, and our new YouTube channel. Hopefully this will not only be a time for our kids to further the progress they have made as musicians, but also a chance to bring music to their families during a difficult time.

We have first asked that each one of our students record a song with their instrument at home in their room. We made this montage of them playing their favorite tunes to show you that our kids our motivated to continue practicing and that we will come out this difficult time stronger.
